Our Mission: Fostering Understanding, Healing, and Acceptance Through the Arts
Kap2ure Studios is a unique blend of creativity, community, and personal growth, offering a space for artistic expression, communal events, and spiritual healing. It enriches the queer community and beyond with events like our quarterly Queer Karaoke Nights & the WE. Worship Experience pop-ups. Kap2ure also facilitates intimate concerts (Sofar) and community gatherings. Additionally, we mentor young creatives, preparing them to enter the film industry with hands-on experience on set, ready to excel in their careers. Committed to giving back, the studio supports self-discovery, healing, and celebrates the arts, leading by example and placing resources towards being the change we want to see.

Meet Katie Simbala—a spirited Latina from the Bronx turned pioneering filmmaker in Baltimore.
With roots in a Pentecostal home, Katie's journey from worship pastor to advocate filmmaker celebrates her queer identity and Latin heritage.
Facing challenges with courage, she is currently in development for her film "My Life in a Skirt" to navigate the complex intersections of queer identity, Latinidad, and faith.
Founding two production studios, Katie empowers marginalized voices through her work, embodying the power of living authentically with faith, hope, and love.
